10 Days of Prayer

Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.
— Jeremiah 29:12

After God reminds Israel of His plans to bring them hope and a future (Jer. 29:11), He admonishes them to pray and He would listen. In keeping with the recent call to prayer by the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventist, Valley Fellowship has risen to the challenge of prayer. During the upcoming 10 Days of Prayer (February 8-17), we will make our way, as a family, to the altar, the very heart of God. This is an opportunity to pray for a revival of our personal and family worship altars. We will pray for the Holy Spirit to reform and empower us to proclaim God’s final message of hope. We will pray that we, as individuals, families and a church community, will focus on our mission to Grow Deep, Go Out and Make Disciples.

A prayerful church is a powerful church...
— Charles Spurgeon

The 10 Days of Prayer will be family focused. Each family unit will come together to pray on specific topics (i.e., church mission, pastoral leadership, United States leadership, church families, etc.). Alongside the topic for each day, there will be a corresponding Bible verse to read, discuss and use as the starting point for family prayer. There’s no scripted time or way to pray. Just what works for each individual family unit. Below is the Prayer Schedule. Share it with your family and get praying!! Then join us at the church service on February 18 for a special Thanksgiving Prayer service. We will have an opportunity to share how God has blessed and even answered some of our prayers. The event will end with an outreach mission (a prayer walk around the church, inviting the Holy Spirit to bless our neighbors and reveal to us how we can serve them).

I used to believe that prayer changes things. But now I know that prayer changes us, and we change things”...
